| One
goal of the Geiss Foundation is to sponsor publications
about Ming and Chinese studies. We are setting up
Pear Publications LLC to undertake such publications.
All profits, if any, from Pear Publications will be donated
to the Geiss Foundation to help continue with other projects.
One
of the first books we plan to publish is Selected Readings
in Ming Dynasty Documents. See details at
Selected
Ming Reading.
Other
books planned for research and publication include illustrated
books about Ming history that can bring a visual dimension
to the discipline. One publication project in this
direction is a pictorial history of the emperors of the
Ming dynasty, using court portraits of Ming emperors made
during their reigns. See
An
Illustrated History of Ming Dynasty Emperors.
Future
publication projects under consideration include: Chinese
Courtesans and Prostitutes and Ming Structures in Beijing
(working titles), Traditional Art Forms by Young Beijing
Artists.
We
welcome all constructive suggestions and comments.
